Since the beginning of the Islamic Revolution, the African continent has had a special place in Iran's foreign policy, and the Supreme Leader of the Revolution has always emphasized it. Establishing cultural relations as part of cultural diplomacy is a tool for realizing and maintaining foreign relations and has been a priority of Iran's foreign policy apparatus, which has led to cooperation with African countries at various levels. Therefore, the purpose of the present study is to identify the opportunities and strategies of the Islamic Republic of Iran's cultural diplomacy based on the directives of the Supreme Leader in the African continent, which will help Iran become an influential power in Africa. The research findings showed that in the dimension of the semantic structure governing relations, the memory of colonialism, confronting the system of domination, hatred of the American government, the importance of the activities of Muslims and the people of the world, the popularity and role model and influence of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the acceptance and favorable reception of the Islamic Revolution discourse by African countries, in the dimension of the structure of interests governing relations, the unity of Muslims, the creation of an Islamic pact, cooperation of independent countries with each other, the use of each other's capacities, in the dimension of the material structure governing relations, rich wealth and natural resources, human talent, rich civilization and culture, the presence of a large number of Shiites in 27 countries of the African continent are among Iran's opportunities in this continent. Finally, it can be stated that the development of cultural diplomatic relations with the African continent can be effective in increasing the soft power of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the regional and trans-regional dimensions, therefore, paying attention to this continent is of great importance.
