Cultural Usage of Internet and the lack of Virtual Identity (Ethnography of Students in the Faculty of Communication,
Civil Engineering and Architecture)
Using the net is one of the most important fields in daily cultural usage of people; also the cultural usage of the internet is considered to be one of the crucial sources which shape the student identity. In this research by using the identity discourse as well as the data collected during last 3 years in 3 different universities, the content of the meaning and the main discourse which is related to the internet usage have been categorized, in addition the interpretation of the lived experience of the student about using the internet have been identified and categorized. Identifying the major categories of the main discourse and the lived experience have been considered as the introduction of virtual identity among students, but the results of this research have indicated that we cannot be sure about the formation of the coherent virtual identity among student.
