Chastity and veil are Religious orders that acquaintance of individuals with their criteria and patterns of them take place in process of their religious socialization. In this process, people understand the content and meaning of these doctrines and use them in the situations and interactions of their everyday lives. Chador as the preferred hijab in Islam is a cultural phenomenon in the field of women's clothing that has been shown over the years in IRIB. Choosing this cover, including in social relationships is usually a sign of a person's commitment to religious principles. This research seeks to answer this question that how chastity indicators have been represented in Chadori women of TV series's, in the years after the Islamic Revolution? In this regard, at first these indicators derived from Islamic law and then analyzed in all Chadori women in 40 most viewed Iranian TV series. Accordingly, a total of 107 Chadori characters from these series have been selected and studied. . SPSS software and descriptive and inferential statistics (Chi-square test) were used to analyze the data. Findings of the research indicate that in the years after the Islamic Revolution, Chadori women, despite choosing the superior hijab, have not followed the criteria of Islamic chastity in their interaction with men. The way they communicate, look and talk with men, also their obvious adornment, hair and body in facing men, have no significant difference with the women who have another kind of covers.

Every country prefers to be a producer and exporter in any industry rather than being a pure importer. Actually, it is not about preference, it is about social and economical necessity to cultural industries. The mobile gaming industry as one of the entertainment industries has grown economically as well as in popularity all over the world in the last ten years. It is economically and socially necessary for Iranian mobile gaming companies to enter the global market as well. For this aim at first, we need to identify and analyze its current state. In order to archive this goal 14 experts including policy makers, researchers, mobile gaming activists, managers and media managers were being interviewed in this qualitative content analysis research. After three coding steps, 21 themes about status of Iran gaming industry were extracted from 450 raw codes and analyzed by SWOT technique. As a conclusion, four fields of strengths (such as high capacity of internal market, low costs of production and learning, …), weaknesses (including human resource management, science management, investment, …), opportunities (such as being more powerful than the other local competitors, strong cultural relationships with other local countries, …) and threats (including hard competition in the global market, sanctions set against Iran economy, …) identified and analyzed by SWOT matrix. The government should take on the role of policy maker in the game industry and lead it to international markets in order to get rid of the single-product economy, in partnership with the private sector.

Content strategies have a crucial role in fulfilling the mission of IRIB. The main prerequisite for the successful implementation and operation of these strategies is haveing appropriate evaluation indicators. The main goal of this study is, "Identifying the measures of evaluating the strategies of the IRIB in the field of content production and distribution. Balanced Scorecard has been used to achieve the goals of the research. In this research, experts' opinions were used in two focus group sessions. By focusing on balanced scorecard dimensions and long-range strategies and programs of IRIB in the content area, indicators were identified. "Percentage of programs produced with research attachment, "The number of news sections in specialized channels", "Amount of freelance production in broadband and in different genres", "Monetizing through different income mechanisms in the broadband space", "The number of people interacting with IRIB, "The status of the channels and radio and television programs in the social networks" are the most important indicators identified for the strategic assessment of the IRIB content in accordance with the balanced scorecard model. For continuous evaluation of content strategies, it is necessary for IRIB to translate the indicators into quantities value. Then, based on them, determine and quantify the progress of content strategy. Considering the environmental requirements and audience’s desires, needs and interests, as well as analyzing their performance and competitors in the media competition environment and the serious effort to apply these indicators will provide the basis for accurate content management and planning.

Despite changes in situation of women in the representation system of Iranian movies referred to as “gender ideology blurring”, women's position in the cinema of Iran is still controversial and women are still a problematic stratum in the society. Proposing such a claim, the researchers in this study made an attempt to analyze two movies, i.e. “About Elly” and “Nader and Simin, A Separation”. Using semiotics and Ferdinand de Saussure analysis techniques of paradigmatic and Syntagmatic, it has been tried to find out how women problematicity is in the recent decade in the cinema of Iran and through what mechanisms subordination of women is formed in the society. The results of the study revealed that in spite of employment, personal autonomy and appropriate academic and social position, the problematic of femininity could initially be raised by “gender ritual-like representation” subordinately. Moreover, the findings of the study indicated that the subordination mechanisms of women were rendered more mysterious, dangerous and secretive so that the modern represented woman has been characterized and found an identity with moral stigma including treachery, infidelity, lack of commitment, secrecy, lying and selfishness. In addition, the characterization and representation system of the recent decade associated family instability and breakdown with self-centered individualism of women and noted the destructive side of the subject, namely the modern woman of the Iranian society repeatedly and emphatically.

The social world is the field of multiple discourses in which they are competing over their stabilization of discursive space. The concrete adequacy pertains to potency of discourse in the pattern-making of basic society institutions such as family. After the Islamic revolution, belligerent discourses have tried to combat discursive stream of the Islamic revolution. In this article, after searching through valid documents and news about women and family among social networks and domestic/international news agencies (62 documents between the year 2012-2015), the pattern of family has been studied from the perspective of DAESH discourse according to CDA and Lacanian discourse analysis in three levels of descriptive, interpretative, and explanative analysis. Some parts of the discursive power of that pattern relate to communications and the virtual space. It seems that DAESH’s family pattern is articulated around the concepts of ‘masculinity’, ‘dominance of collectivism,’ and ‘attention to Salafism and Superficialism doctrines’.

This research investigates the relations between personality traits, narcissism and Psycho-Social aspects of Facebook (FB) usage in Iran. Social Networking Sites (SNSs) have attracted many users in the last two decades and become an unavoidably element of users’ everyday life. Facebook, as a biggest and the most popular SNS in the world, has many users in Iran too. However, there is not much research about the effects of Iranian users’ personality on their FB usage’s patterns. Hence, this paper tries to answer this question that how users’ personality traits shape their usage and affect the Psycho-Social aspects of that. I use the Big-Five trait taxonomy with NP-16 measure of narcissism as the theoretical framework. The Big-Five Inventory covers extraversion, neuroticism, openness, conscientiousness, and agreeableness dimensions of personality and these traits with narcissism can provide a comprehend illustration of one’s personality. In order to measure the Psycho-Social aspects of FB usage, I have focused on the 5 facets: compensatory use of FB, self-presentation on FB, socializing and seeking sexual partners through FB, FB addiction and FB profile as the virtual self. The methodology of this research was online surveying. I designed and published the questionnaire by GoogleDrive.com and after 3 months, 354 answer sheets were gathered. Findings clarify the relations between each personality dimension with each aspect of psycho-social usage of FB. Moreover, the result provides an important set of information about the ways Iranians use FB.

The main aim of the current paper is to identify and analyze the "structural" and "professional" obstacles of media monitoring over the government and governmental organizations of Iran. This research is a kind of applied-exploratory study. The study has applied qualitative method (in-depth interview with journalists and public relations professionals), for data gathering and purposive sampling method for selecting samples. Research results show that the most important cultural obstacles are "secrecy" and "fear" of transparency in Iranian culture, acclaim of praise, the fear of criticism among Iranians. Political obstacles are secrecy in the media due to the heavy shadow of politics, the government officials’ attitude toward the media as a tool serving their purposes, the government intervention in all of media affairs, media mostly belonging to the government, political treatment of the media, the partisan functionality of the media, and the politician’s engagement in the media management. Also the most important legal obstacles are the need to obtain a license for media activities, the breadth of exceptions and red lines of informing, and the most important economic obstacles are the government's presence in the media economy, lack of financial independence in the media, bribery of reporters, inequality competitive conditions between the governmental and non-governmental media. Also the most important obstacles within government organizations include the ownership approach of government to information, media bans on government meetings, considering media criticism as aggressive and misdeed cather by the government managers. Finally, the most important internal media obstacles include media self-censorship, the presence of young and inexperienced people in the media, lack of recognition of investigative journalism, dominance of event-oriented approach instead of process-oriented approach.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the Adolescents' Dual Identities in Cyber-Real space (Case Study: Secondary School Students in Ardabil Province), which was done by survey method. The statistical population includes all high school students in the second year of Ardabil province, from which 380 people were selected as a sample by multi-stage cluster sampling. A researcher-made questionnaire based on the theoretical framework of the research was used to collect data. The validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by face-to-face and structural validity and some modifications and its reliability was confirmed after calculating Cronbach's alpha coefficient and removing some items. Data were analyzed by t-test of two independent groups in SPSS software. The results showed that adolescents in cyberspace had a dual identity in religious, family, sexual, national, ethnic and cultural dimensions. Adolescents' identities were more structured, coherent, and real in real space, and more mobile, unstable, and unstable in cyberspace.An identity that, according to some characteristics, can be called a modern or rethinking identity. Adolescents, in addition to trying to preserve traditional sources of identity in the real world, portrayed themselves as pro-global or cosmopolitan in cyberspace.

This article will examine how life style and ideology are represented in Interchange ESL books in the Iranian institutions for English language. The article seeks a possible answer to two following questions: 1- how Interchange ESL books, treated here as symbolic forms of ideology as Thompson puts it, transmit their ideological training codes? And 2- how these books depict particularly American types of ideology and life style to look as natural and publicly-admitted life style? In order to answer these questions we will first perform a study on all four yellow, red, blue and green versions of Interchange books to find out how the dimensions of life style are represented. Then we will search for discoveries on patterns of representing a particularly American type of life style in Interchange books. We claim these patterns are used in Interchange books as a strategic agenda through which the American ideologies are transmitted to the ESL learners. Our argument will also cover the question of how the audience will interact with such texts. Methodologically, we will rely on the data collected from four focus group discussions. Then we will analyze reactions of the ESL learners to the content of these books. Some of the findings indicate that although these books depict the American ideology, life style and culture, the Iranian ESL learners necessarily do not give in to the instructions. Rather, they chose whether or not they would like to follow the American cultural codes and norms introduced by the books. In some instances the learners invent a cultural bricolage and appeal to it.

The 28th Fajr International Movie Festival was held in the first half of Bahman (5-15) 1388 (February 2010). In this study, the viewpoints of 32 cinema experts and authorities (writer, director, producer, actor and actress, critic, composer, etc) are collected through specialized interviews. The interviews which were conducted in Bahman 12th and 13th 1388 in the festival hall (Milad Tower) had interesting results.
After holding 28 festivals, cinema authorities consider the following advantages for Fajr Movie Festival:
Creation of a competitive atmosphere for filmmakers and motivating other filmmakers to make higher quality movies;
Identifying weaknesses of the movies and correcting them before public show;
Identifying works and subjects more attractive to audiences and critics of Iranian cinema;
An annual opportunity for interaction and exchanging views on the developments of Iranian cinema.
Most cinema experts believe that although organizing festival and providing its expenses is done by the government, a realistic look confirms that organizing festival by government at present time can be beneficial; this is while presence of a
permanent independent organization or an academy for the festival can open up a new horizon for Iranian Cinema.
Most cinema experts of the country believe that getting award by a movie in the festival brings credit to the movie and its producers. This is even stronger in the case of young movie producers and actors or actresses and has a great effect on their popularity among people and cinema experts.
Most interviewed experts evaluate the effect of Fajr movie festival on the credit and position of Iranian cinema at international level positive but trivial.
From the viewpoint of cinema experts, the trend of festival during past 28 years has been growing and improving, although due rapid change of cinema authorirties in various years it was very different with many ups and downs.

This research aims to "study the role of weblogs in development of sociopolitical awareness of the postgraduate students of communication sciences. To investigate and collecting data, survey method and questionnaire have been employed respectively. After completing the questionnaires, the data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential tables in SPSS program. The statistical population of this research includes 140 postgraduate students of communication sciences admitted to universities in the academic year 2011-2012. Because of the low number of the members of the statistical population, census-sampling method has been applied, and after reducing those who were not available to participate in the research, 124 questionnaires were filled. According to the findings of the research, the most respondents spend less than one hour per day referring to weblogs so that they can read news, being informed of social and political events. Findings show that these respondents use the news of weblogs about 3 to 6 years, and are familiar with famous weblogs to some extent. The most respondents also know how to work with weblogs. For obtaining more and valid information about a celebrity or famous person, they refer to websites and social networks. They believe that although they have a broad access to the internet, they do not spent much time for reading weblogs. In their opinion, the filtering of websites has a role in their access to the internet. Most respondents have trust in the content of the weblogs in some extent, and they just rely to some extent on the news they obtained from the weblogs for quoting from such news. so they do not use the content of the weblogs for their decision-makings. they think that weblogs are not valid resources for collecting information about the details of events and news. Most respondents believe in weblogs’ content to some extent and so they wouldn't present to the others what they have gained from weblogs. They believe that weblogs have play a role in their awareness about the most significant political events of their time, the most important political decisions made in the contemporary era, political terms and concepts, political organizations, institutions, parties, prominent politicians, who played a decisive role in the contemporary political changes of the contemporary era. In addition, the political orientation of the media and their major proponents, the concepts of political development, political schools and models, the issues hidden behind political events, the ability to analyze political news and events properly, social damages and abnormalities, social changes, the conditions of the different social classes, as well as the social trends have no significant role in such awareness.

To this end, critical discourse analysis has been applied and 14 samples “Shargh” and “Iran” newspapers from 2013/8/3 to 2020/3/19 have been reviewed. According to the findings, some texts of the “Shargh” newspaper were published with the aim of laying the groundwork for implementation of the plans and policies of the 11th and 12th governments programs. In “Iran” newspaper, the role of officials and policy makers in creating the crisis and their responsibility in solving it is invisible. Furthermore, some of the “Iran” newspaper texts indirectly serve to vindicate government’s failure in solving the water crisis and reduce the expectations from the government. In “Iran” newspaper, people are blamed for not participating in solving the problem. In this way, the structures that prevent people's participation are become invisible and people's participation is reduced to saving. “Iran” newspaper portrays the society as a savior and discourages them from changing government policies. Based on the results, the effect of political powers on the formation of the water problem discourse in these newspapers is evident. Furthermore, water issue has become an excuse to make the opposition party appear ineffective, reduce expectations from the 11th and 12th governments, and eliminate responsibility from the governments and parliamentarians.

This purpose of this study is to measure the impact of “Agenda Setting” and “Interpersonal Communication” on Iranian attitude towards the United States (US gov. and US citizens separately). The study specifically guided based on two research questions: 1.How Iranian people think about the government and the people of the United States? and 2.If the socio-demographic factors and types of media being used are affecting their attitude towards the US government and US citizens? Theoretically, two communication theories, namely Network Agenda Setting and Reception Theory, were applied. Due to the nature of study, the researchers applied mixed method (quantitative online survey using validated questionnaire and qualitative method, using in-depth interview with purposefully selected respondents). Quantitative vise, the results of the study show that although the media has impact on Iranian perception towards US, however their perception is different from what media have tried to portray regarding the image of US gov. and US citizens. In comparison, personal communication has more influence on the perception of Iranian people toward the US gov. and its citizens. Qualitative vise, the result of the study highlighted that in some Iranian citizens’ mind, one should differentiate between the government of the US with its Citizen. The in-depth analysis of the results of the study reveals the media organization’s weakness in both recognition of audiences as an active user as well as applying new models of publicity such as network agenda setting or new persuasion tactics.

The purpose of this article is to analyze environmental media policies to achieve an appropriate media model for addressing environmental issues. To achieve the goal and evaluate the status quo, using the two theories of agenda setting and environmental journalism principles and sustainable development were presented. Then to achieve a media model, 22 communications and sociology professors and experienced individuals in the fields of media and environment were selected using the two methods of Targeted Sampling and Snowball Sampling and then they were interviewed using the semi-structured deep interview model. Then the achieved data was interpreted using open, axial and selective coding. The results, in the model-delivering section, show that media and decision-makers play three main service functions to promote sustainable development. The first function of the media identified in this study is providing mediating factors in sustainable development. The mediating factors can be provided through involving people, caring about to NGOs and recruiting academicians. The second function of the media is to apply the five media strategies which include publishing a professional environment-related media, employing an environment specialist reporter, releasing environmental reports and highlighting its issues, making reports about environmental issues and problems and making officials feel accountable about sustainable development.

Therefore, within the framework of the critical school theory which benefits from the two important features (i.e. explanation of the ineffectiveness of "status quo" with the aim of achieving "optimal status" and its dedication to inter-mental categories such as culture, norms and common sense), this important part of the human rights is explored and evaluated in terms of the cultural issues. At the end, a number of guidelines for the design of new international structures containing a new discourse and also new concepts to promote human rights are presented. Two of these guidelines are legal consensus building with an emphasis on ethics of responsibility, as well as the formation of the union of support NGOs.

Identifying the providing factors of common identity in the areas of immigration is essential to prevent multiplicity of identity and cultural conflict. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of three types of social capital – bonding, bridging and linking- on the construction of social and national identity in the immigrants. Population is all of the 15 to 45 years old immigrants who have migrated to "Shahinshahr", one of the immigrants absorber cities in Isfahan. 150 of those were selected by stratified sampling and were studied. The results show that, despite its high level of participation and confidence in the bonding networks rather than other networks (mean equals 4.2), just the linking social capital, in the sense of relations between people with different levels of power, explains %23 of the variance in social identity and 41% of the variance in national identity. Therefore, the main factor providing common identity and consensus is to go beyond the limited family and kinship networks. These results adapt with conditions of social networks in developing countries. In these countries, the useful and long connections between individuals and governmental networks is effective in the elimination of alienation and commitment to national common values.
