According to crucial roles of media in the age of information, many countries as well as international organizations have special attention to design the legislation for mass media because they want to persuade and order their own desired policy. The” comprehensive law “in mass media area is one of the most important approaches which have been rapidly proposed these days.
Comprehensive law in mass media area has been considered in our country Iran, especially after approval of fourth development program. In this program the government has to codify the “comprehensive legal system for mass media”. However in the Fifth development program, this issue has been underlined again. This article tries to investigate the necessity of legislation of comprehensive mass media law in Islamic Republic of Iran as a proposal for codifying the Law. This paper tries to answer this question: Is it necessary to codify a comprehensive mass media Law in Islamic Republic of Iran?
