In this type of media, the role of science journalists is translation and simplification of the complex and expertise language of the modern science. In the literature, this approach named traditional models of public communication of science. To identify categories for good science journalism in Iran, this study has used focus group and had deep interview with science journalists who had experienced for more than 10 years . Findings of the research indicate that redefinition of the function of science journalism is also based on traditional models. It means that science journalists proposed popularization and contextual model. However, they start to think about these media as identical factor and physical-cultural and social capital because of limited number of audiences and feeling to have  independent economy. It seems that this approach would change the function of science journalism in the future and it would become a dynamic and influential part in the field of media and science.
