The purpose of this study is to estimate the demand function of going to cinema and analyzing the factors affecting it, in Mashhad. The population of the research is the total population of the cinema audience in Mashhad in 1396. In order to estimate the sample size of the study, Cochran formula was used which 384 spectators were sufficiently identified to collect data. The researcher-made questionnaire was distributed according to a simple random sampling method. The obtained data show a positive and high income effect among economic factors affecting the demand of cinema in Mashhad. Among the environmental factors, the type of cinema in terms of services and amenities such as parking, multi-purpose (cinema campus), proper space of the hall, sound and image quality, and the degree of development of the neighborhood, has a significant effect on the demand of the cinema.
The results of five factors affecting the demand for cinema show that the economic factors are more important than cultural and social factors.
